If things are really bad, right now
In the US and Canada, 988 answers 24/7, free of charge (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). In a life-threatening emergency, 911. In the UK and Ireland, 116 123. Anywhere in Europe, 112.
These numbers are in the app too, on every grounding screen, and they stay available without a subscription.

The subscription
How to cancel
The subscription goes entirely through the App Store: we have no way of cancelling it for you, and no access to your payment details. You cancel it on your iPhone:
- Open Settings
- Tap your name, right at the top
- Subscriptions
- Yumi, then Cancel Subscription
You keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. The seven-day trial comes with the yearly plan: cancel before the trial ends and nothing is charged.
I’ve changed phone
Open Yumi, go to the subscription screen and tap Restore purchases. The subscription is tied to your Apple account, not to your device.
Asking for a refund
Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
How to delete everything
Your notebook, your journal, your moods and your colourings are saved on your iPhone only. Deleting the app deletes them for good: we hold no copy and cannot give them back to you.
To erase only the conversation, open the chat, tap the menu at the top left, then Erase our conversation.
Where do my messages go?
Your messages are what leaves your phone, along with the little context that comes with them. It’s all set out in detail in the privacy policy.
Common questions
Yumi isn’t answering me
Check your connection: the conversation needs the internet, unlike the rest of the app. Messages are also capped at twenty a day — beyond that, Yumi is still there in other ways, but won’t write a reply until the next day.
I’m getting too many notifications
Two a day at most. You can adjust them or turn them off entirely in the app: the Profile tab, reminders section.
One exception, and it happens only once: the day before your free trial ends, a reminder warns you that the charge is coming. That one is sent even if you turned reminders off — letting you be charged without warning would be worse than one notification too many.
The sounds won’t play
Playing a sound for the first time downloads it; after that it works offline. If nothing happens, check that your iPhone isn’t on silent and that the volume isn’t at minimum.
Does Yumi replace professional care?
No. Yumi keeps you company; Yumi does not treat. No diagnosis, no treatment, and in no way a substitute for a doctor or a psychologist.
